How Do You Pull Off A 24-Hour Corporate Video Production With A Short Notice?

Here’s how we pulled it off and what we learned along the way.

(we talk through the video journey here) – but if you want to scan our approach – keep reading.

The Call

It started with an unexpected request from a former client who had recently moved to a new real estate brokerage. They needed help with a quick-turnaround event video that would showcase their company culture and brand. Initially, we hesitated. The time constraints seemed impossible, and we didn’t want to compromise on quality.

But when they came back with an adjusted budget and more flexibility on the concept, we decided to take the plunge.

The Challenge

Our mission: Create a two-minute video that would excite employees about an upcoming corporate event while highlighting the organization’s culture and fostering a sense of belonging. The catch? We had no time for scripts or elaborate storyboards. We had to think on our feet and rely on our instincts.

The Shoot

With the clock ticking, we hit the ground running. Our strategy was simple but effective:

1. Focus on body language: Without time for rehearsed speeches, we decided to capture the essence of the company through non-verbal communication. (yes that meant that no audio equipment required and minimal retakes)

2. Highlight key players: We brought in leadership and mentors to represent the company’s values visually.

3. Embrace spontaneity: Working without a strict script allowed for genuine moments and authentic interactions.

4. Divide and conquer: I took on the role of director, while my partner managed the technical aspects, ensuring we maximized our efficiency.

The Post-Production Sprint

Once we wrapped the shoot, it was a race against time in the editing room.

We worked tirelessly to weave together the footage into a cohesive story that captured the company’s spirit. Despite the pressure, given our approach – we knew that it was feasible

The Result

When we delivered the final product, we held our breath. To our relief and delight, the client loved it. So much so, that they immediately requested another, more extensive video project. There’s no greater validation than a client asking for more!

Lessons Learned

1. Trust is everything: The client’s faith in our vision allowed us to work creatively and efficiently.
2. Constraints breed creativity: The tight deadline forced us to think outside the box and rely on our instincts.
3. Teamwork makes the dream work: Clear role division and seamless collaboration were key to our success.
4. Quality can coexist with speed: With the right approach, it’s possible to create impactful content even under extreme time pressure.

This project reminded us why we love what we do. It pushed our limits, showcased our abilities, and ultimately resulted in a satisfied client and a product we’re proud of.
